Senior Vice President
Mark has successfully guided over 200 church engagements through revitalization efforts to foster discipleship, create cultures of generosity, and spark vitality. As the son of a pastor, ministry has always been an important part of Mark’s life's journey. He spent years as a highly engaged volunteer at Granger Community Church in Indiana, where he met his wife and raised his kids. It was during his time at Granger that Mark's passion for bringing creativity and innovation to the church was ignited. His valuable contributions as the COO of a technology company led to an invitation from Granger to join their staff, where he oversaw the launch of their online community and played a pivotal role in their rapid growth as one of the fastest-growing churches in America.
After a long tenure at Granger, Mark was invited to join The Unstuck Group to actively facilitate experiences where leaders, teams, and strategic partners learned how to work together to get traction on their ministry mission and vision. Mark led strategic planning retreat initiatives for a wide spectrum of churches, denominations, and nonprofits to develop and implement healthy church plans.
Today, as a Senior Vice President at Horizons Stewardship, Mark brings over 19 years of ministry, 22 years of corporate, and 39 years of entrepreneurial frontline experience to help churches and faith-based nonprofits fund their visions through Horizons' Integrated Funding Strategies. He uses The Unstuck Group process to guide these organizations through achievable steps to align their vision, strategy, teams, and actions. Mark thrives in change management efforts, complex environments, and skillfully integrates disjointed parts back together. Known for being a creative out-of-the-box thinker who connects the dots others can't see. He's a right-brain thinker in left-brain clothing who loves what he does and the people he gets to do it with.
Mark and his wife, Kem, have been married for 28 years and live in South Bend, IN. They're loving every minute of the empty nest season of life and have their favorite moments with three grown kids and two grandkids scattered in the Midwest. They enjoy working, learning, and growing young together. They love hiking, relaxing at the beach, and occasionally squeezing in a round of golf.
